At 5:00 AM today, as the sun rose over the horizon, CTA’s young and dynamic Local Content team gathered along Maputo’s iconic Marginal beach road to celebrate a historic milestone: the birth of Local Content in Mozambique.
Standing where the dawn meets the ocean, there was no better backdrop to welcome a bright, ambitious future for local talent and businesses nationwide.
This landmark year marks a monumental step forward. With unanimous parliamentary approval of the Local Content Law and the recent Council of Ministers’ endorsement of its regulations, Mozambique officially enters a new era of economic empowerment. Now, the real work begins!
To lead this transformation, CTA has officially established the Bureau of Local Content. Headquartered along the Marginal, the centre will soon host a powerhouse of 20 high-performing young professionals – proudly nicknamed the “Local Content Mambas.”
During today’s ceremonial launch, seven symbolic balloons were released into the sky, representing the Seven Pillars of Local Content. Each soaring balloon signifies commitment, hope, and determination to build a vibrant ecosystem for national industry growth.

The Seven Pillars represent the key priorities of this mission: creating jobs and developing national talent; empowering national businesses; strengthening skills through training and certification; improving access to finance for SMEs; promoting community development; developing 20 industrial parks; and attracting investment to Mozambique.
Bold vision, massive impact
The CTA Local Content team has set an inspiring, high-impact target for the nation over the next 10 years, until 2035:
- 2 Million New Jobs created across all economic sectors.
- 10,000 Local Suppliers empowered to access high-value supply chains.
Crucially, Local Content isn’t limited to oil and gas. This nationwide effort spans all strategic sectors, including mining, energy, ports, tourism, banking, and manufacturing industries. Together, with vision and hard work, the Local Content Mambas are ready to turn this dream into reality!
