Mitsubishi has unveiled the Outlander Diamond Trail, an off-road-oriented variant of its popular SUV, at the SEMA Show running from 3 to 6 November in Las Vegas, United States.

The debut marks the Japanese manufacturer’s return to the event for the first time since 2012. The production model is being shown alongside two heavily modified variants designed for more demanding use on rough terrain.

The production version, intended for the North American market, features a distinctive front grille, black-finish headlights, pronounced wheel arch cladding, and redesigned bumpers. These changes raise the approach angle from 18.3 to 20.5 degrees and the departure angle from 22.2 to 23.1 degrees, improving the vehicle’s ability to clear obstacles.

The Outlander Diamond Trail rides on 18-inch black alloy wheels fitted with Nexen Roadian ATX all-terrain tyres, raised roof rails, and a new exterior colour called Trail Green Metallic. The interior features dark grey upholstery, khaki stitching, water-resistant materials, and special-edition badging.

Mitsubishi has retained its S-AWC all-wheel-drive system and added a dedicated Rock mode for low-traction surfaces. The multi-directional camera system has also been upgraded, now operating at speeds of up to 30 km/h, compared with the previous limit of 10 km/h.

In addition to the production model, the brand is displaying two customised units built around outdoor adventure use. The first is fitted with BFGoodrich Trail Terrain T/A tyres, a 3.8-centimetre lift kit, auxiliary lighting, a Thule roof rack, and a personalised GulfStream trailer. The setup also carries two Specialized Stumpjumper mountain bikes.

The second variant takes a more extreme approach, featuring a 6.4-centimetre suspension lift, additional lighting, recovery boards, and a rooftop tent, positioning the vehicle for serious off-road expeditions.

Mitsubishi has not confirmed whether the Outlander Diamond Trail will be launched in European markets. All three vehicles are on display at the SEMA Show alongside other models from the brand, including the Triton AXCR pick-up, the Delica D:5 Ultimate Gear, and the Outlander Sport Trail Edition.
