The Banco Nacional de Angola (BNA) will host the 63rd Meeting of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in Luanda from 2 to 4 November, bringing together the region's top monetary authorities to assess progress on monetary and financial cooperation.
The gathering forms part of the statutory meeting calendar of Southern Africa's monetary authorities and aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation among central banks, while deepening dialogue on the principal challenges and opportunities facing the African financial system.
Among the issues on the agenda is macroeconomic convergence, considered one of the fundamental pillars for ensuring economic and financial stability across the region's member states.
The high-level meeting will take place at a particularly significant moment for Angola, coinciding with celebrations marking the BNA's 50th anniversary.
For the Angolan central bank, hosting the event represents an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to regional integration and sustainable development.
The institution also intends to underscore the importance of consolidating coordinated monetary policies among SADC member states, as part of broader efforts to reinforce economic and financial stability across Southern Africa.
