Millennium bim has launched Kapulana Credit, a digital financing solution targeting women engaged in income-generating activities, with the aim of easing access to credit and strengthening their economic autonomy, the bank announced on Thursday, 5 November.

Available through the Smart IZI mobile application, the product allows eligible customers to apply for financing directly from their phones, without the need to visit a branch. Eligibility is assessed on the basis of account history and transaction activity, in accordance with the bank’s credit analysis criteria.

According to Rui Pedro, Chair of the Executive Committee of Millennium bim, the initiative is designed to address the needs of women involved in trade, entrepreneurship, and other economic activities.

“The participation of women in the Mozambican economy is fundamental to the country’s growth and development. At Millennium bim, we believe that innovation must serve people, creating conditions for more women to access financial instruments that support their activities and aspirations,” he said.

Kapulana Credit forms part of Millennium bim’s broader digital transformation strategy, which focuses on financial solutions to simplify banking services and advance women’s financial inclusion in Mozambique.
