Traffic on National Road Seven (N7), in Tete province, will be restricted on Saturday and Sunday (7 and 8 November) due to works involving road cutting and the installation of a water main at two points along the road in the Chithatha area of Moatize municipality

According to a press release from the National Roads Administration (ANE), the works are part of the implementation of the Water Services and Institutional Support Project II (WASIS II), which includes the rehabilitation and construction of distribution centres and water supply networks in the cities of Tete and Moatize.

The works will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., during which traffic will be subject to temporary restrictions through an alternating vehicle traffic system (STOP AND GO), as local conditions do not allow temporary diversion routes to be established.

To ensure the safety of road users and workers, ANE will install temporary warning signs approximately 100 metres before the work areas, erect barriers and cordon off the construction sites, and deploy traffic marshals equipped with flags and STOP (red) and GO (green) signs to guide the alternating flow of vehicles.

ANE appeals for the understanding and cooperation of all users of the N7, recommending that they reduce their speed when approaching the work areas, strictly observe temporary traffic signs and the instructions of traffic marshals, maintain a safe distance, avoid overtaking in restricted areas and allow for possible delays to their journey times, the statement says.
