Horticultural production groups in Chiúre-Sede have begun their first kale harvest. The harvest is part of the +VALOR Project, a three-year agriculture program in Chiúre District supported by the Mozambique LNG Foundation and implemented by EFF, targeting 5,000 farmers.
Total harvested stands, so far, at 2,257 kg of kale, directly benefiting 1,025 families: 624 women and 401 men. Harvesting continues across the production plots, as crops reach maturity at different times. The quantity harvested and the number of families reached are expected to increase gradually as more groups begin.

During the harvest, producers received technical guidance on harvesting techniques, crop management and post-harvest handling, to minimize losses and ensure the best use of the produce. Monitoring and technical assistance will continue until harvesting is completed.

The activity increases the availability of fresh vegetables for household consumption, supporting food and nutrition security in the district.
