- Seven-year partnership includes cooperation, training and insurance literacy for the university community
Fidelidade Ímpar and the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP-Maputo) today signed a memorandum of understanding for the upgrading of the university’s Central Library auditorium. Lasting seven years, the agreement also provides for the development of insurance literacy projects aimed at students, lecturers and members of the technical and administrative staff.
The memorandum expands the university community’s access to Fidelidade Ímpar’s protection solutions and provides for the creation of a space at the Faculty of Economics and Management for lectures and other initiatives aimed at promoting insurance literacy. The insurer also undertakes to support training initiatives and other activities of mutual interest, as well as to offer packages of protection solutions on special terms for UP-Maputo students, staff and their immediate family members.
According to Fidelidade Ímpar’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Manuel Gamito, the partnership with UP-Maputo reflects the insurer’s commitment to education and the development of Mozambican communities.
“This memorandum represents a strategic partnership that improves and enhances the university’s assets, strengthens training capacity in the insurance sector and broadens access to advantageous terms when purchasing these products,” he said.
In Mozambique, only 17% of the adult population has some form of insurance coverage, according to data released at the opening of the OESAI International Conference in August 2026. Literacy initiatives such as those provided for in this memorandum contribute to reversing this situation and extending access to protection to more families and communities.
The signing of this agreement reaffirms Fidelidade Ímpar’s commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation in education, training, insurance literacy and institutional development, with an impact on Mozambique’s sustainable development.
