The governments of Mozambique and the United States held the country's first training session in Google Super Intelligence and cloud computing in Maputo on Thursday, 29 October, in an initiative aimed at advancing digital transformation and strengthening technological and economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to a statement cited by Club of Mozambique, the training was organised by the US Embassy in Maputo, representing the American government, and by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation, representing the Mozambican government, with the participation of technology company Google.

The opening session featured remarks from Abigail L. Dressel, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States in Mozambique, and Américo Muchanga, Minister of Communications and Digital Transformation.

The initiative builds on an existing collaboration between Google and Mozambique in the area of technology capacity-building, following an earlier virtual training programme that reached 100 Mozambican entrepreneurs.

This was the second training activity promoted by Google in the country during October, reinforcing efforts to share knowledge and develop skills related to emerging technologies.

The training forms part of the Mozambican government's broader digital transformation agenda and seeks to build national capacity in the fields of artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

Google's participation is in turn aligned with wider efforts to strengthen economic and commercial cooperation between Mozambique and the United States through the engagement of the American private sector.
