Chinese technology company Rollme has announced the AuraCam, a wireless over-ear headphone model integrating an 8-megapixel (MP) camera capable of capturing photographs and recording video. It is the brand’s first product to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) functionality.
The camera features electronic image stabilisation, designed to reduce blur when capturing content in motion. Media can be synchronised with the brand’s smartphone application via a single tap on the headphone stem.
Among the AI capabilities, the AuraCam offers real-time recognition and simultaneous translation tools, powered by OpenAI technologies, to facilitate communication between speakers of different languages. The device also allows users to record audio from meetings with three taps on the side of the unit.
On the audio side, the headphones incorporate a 40mm microcrystalline metal diaphragm, intended to reproduce high-frequency sounds with greater detail and reduce distortion at high volume levels. The model also includes a low-latency mode designed to improve synchronisation between audio and visuals during gaming sessions.
In terms of connectivity, the AuraCam supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6. The manufacturer also highlights leather ear cushions engineered to reduce pressure on the ears during extended use, as well as a battery with fast-charging support and a claimed full-day battery life.
Available in black and beige, the Rollme AuraCam is priced at US$89.99. According to the company, the new model follows the Rollme AirCam, launched in July, another headphone from the brand also equipped with an 8MP camera.
