FNB Mozambique on Thursday, 5 November, delivered a set of equipment to the Beira Golf Club, including a golf cart, caddies’ vests and caps, in an initiative designed to improve the institution’s operating conditions and support the development of the sport in central Mozambique.

According to a statement from the bank, the initiative forms part of a partnership established with the Beira Golf Club and aims to contribute to better conditions for the practice of golf. The equipment is expected to improve mobility on the course, support the organisation of tournaments and events, and provide enhanced conditions for players and visitors.

At the handover ceremony, FNB Mozambique Chief Executive Dennis Mbingo highlighted the importance of sport as a vehicle for community development.

“At FNB we believe that sport has the power to bring people together, inspire excellence and promote the development of communities. Through this partnership with the Beira Golf Club, we seek to contribute to the growth of a sport that has been gaining ground in the country and, at the same time, support an institution that plays a relevant role in the sporting and social life of the city of Beira. We hope this equipment will help create better conditions and drive the growth of the sport in this region,” Mbingo said.

Beira Golf Club President Harishkumar Naunitlal, in turn, expressed gratitude for the bank’s support, noting that the equipment represents a meaningful improvement in the club’s operational capacity and the organisation of its activities.

“We received this support from FNB with great satisfaction. This golf cart — the first in Mozambique — represents a significant improvement for the club’s operations and for the organisation of our sporting activities. More than a piece of equipment, this gesture demonstrates confidence in the work we have been doing to promote golf in Beira and to provide a better experience for players. We are grateful to have a partner that believes in the potential of sport as a driver of development, especially golf,” Naunitlal said.

According to the bank’s statement, the Beira Golf Club also serves as a social gathering space for athletes, families, business people and visitors, contributing to the vitality of the city’s sporting and social life.

Through this partnership, FNB Mozambique said it intends to strengthen its support for community initiatives in Beira and across the central region of the country, by investing in equipment and infrastructure that facilitates sporting activity.
