Apple has launched a new 14-inch MacBook Pro equipped with its M6 processor, promising improvements in graphics performance, on-device artificial intelligence processing, and battery life. The new model retains the overall design of its predecessors while introducing meaningful hardware upgrades.

The M6 chip features a 12-core central processing unit (CPU), a 12-core graphics processing unit (GPU), and two 16-core Neural Engines. Unified memory starts at 16 GB, with options of 24 GB and 32 GB available.

According to Apple, the new GPU delivers graphics performance up to 30% faster than the entry-level M5 processor. In on-device AI workloads, the M6 offers gains of up to 25% on certain tasks, while the Neural Engines can achieve performance up to 1.9 times that of the previous generation.

These improvements are designed to accelerate operations such as image generation, AI-powered upscaling, and the execution of large language models directly on the device. Apple also highlights gains in professional tasks including image editing, 3D rendering, and code compilation.

In benchmarks published by the company, the new machine can process the first token of language model responses up to 13 times faster than the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1. In ray tracing renders using Blender, performance can reach up to 11.7 times that of the 2020 model.

Battery life is one of the headline features, with Apple claiming up to 24 hours of use — a figure the company describes as the longest ever on a Mac. The device supports fast charging, capable of recovering up to 50% charge in 30 minutes, along with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity. Available ports include HDMI, MagSafe 3, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an SDXC card reader, and a headphone jack.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 supports connection to up to two additional external displays and will ship with macOS 27 Golden Gate. Pre-orders opened on 28 October as scheduled, with in-store availability expected on 6 November. Pricing starts at approximately $4,600 and varies depending on the chosen configuration — including memory capacity and display options. The highest-spec version is expected to cost around $9,200, placing the laptop firmly in the premium professional segment.
