Instagram is now available on Apple TV, allowing users to watch Reels, long-form videos and live streams directly on their television sets. The application is free and requires tvOS 26.0 or a later version.
The new version enables users to follow content from creators, discover videos and continue playback across different devices, resuming content from the point at which it was last watched.
According to information published on the App Store, the application was developed by Instagram Inc. and began appearing in Apple’s store on 23 October, although the availability of certain features may vary depending on the country and the user’s account.
The arrival on Apple TV extends Instagram’s expansion onto television screens, which began in December 2025 with tests on Amazon’s Fire TV platform in the United States.
In February 2026, Meta broadened the experience to Google TV, and in June to Samsung televisions manufactured from 2020 onwards, also within the North American market.
Early versions allowed users to organise Reels by interest, use autoplay and switch between different accounts. The company subsequently announced plans to integrate longer videos, series and live broadcasts.
With the expansion to Apple TV, Instagram is seeking to strengthen its position in the television entertainment market, where platforms such as YouTube and streaming services compete intensely for viewers’ attention.
