Cornelder de Moçambique (CdM), the concessionaire of the Container and General Cargo Terminals at the Port of Beira, recently presented awards to clients and partners in the city of Beira who stood out for their performance and contribution to port operations, as part of the 2025 edition of the Cornelder Annual Awards.

The initiative, which brought together various stakeholders in the logistics chain, aimed to recognise the role of companies contributing to the growth of cargo handling volumes, improving the competitiveness of the Port of Beira and strengthening the Beira Corridor as one of the main routes connecting to regional and international markets.

Among the companies recognised, East Stone stood out, securing first place in two categories, namely Container Freight Forwarder of the Year and Fastest-Growing Freight Forwarder of the Year, in recognition of the volume of containers handled and the growth recorded between the 2024 and 2025 financial years.

In the general cargo category, Manica Freight Services was named Shipping Agent of the Year, while Terramar Logística won the Cargo Agent of the Year award. J&J Transports, meanwhile, stood out in the Transporter of the Year category, for recording the highest number of truck visits to the port terminals.

The awards also covered the categories of agricultural exporters and general cargo importers, with companies from Mozambique and countries in the region served by the Beira Corridor, namely Zimbabwe, Malawi and Zambia, receiving awards. This reflects the strategic importance of the Port of Beira in supporting regional trade.

The selection of winners was based on operational performance indicators recorded throughout 2025, including cargo volumes handled, growth in activity and use of port infrastructure, making it possible to recognise the companies that contributed most to operations at the Container and General Cargo Terminals.

As explained by Cornelder de Moçambique’s Commercial Director, Letícia Ferreira, the initiative is a way of recognising the contribution of the various stakeholders in the logistics chain and strengthening the partnerships that underpin the development of the Port of Beira.

“The performance of the Port of Beira is the result of the joint efforts of the entire logistics community. These awards are our way of thanking those who choose the Beira Corridor every day and contribute to its competitiveness. This year’s winners show that the port continues to gain importance for Mozambique and the countries of the region,” she said.

The Cornelder Annual Awards form part of Cornelder de Moçambique’s strategy of maintaining close relations with its clients and partners, with a view to strengthening trust, consolidating business relationships and promoting an increasingly efficient and competitive logistics chain.

Through this initiative, Cornelder de Moçambique reaffirms its commitment to recognising its strategic partners and strengthening the position of the Port of Beira as a leading logistics hub for Mozambique and the hinterland countries of Southern Africa.
