Maputo Water and Sanitation (SAAS-Maputo) has announced scheduled work to repair a water transmission pipeline along the Matola-Machava section, in the ZUID area.
The work, which is expected to cause water supply restrictions from 31 October, aims to repair the infrastructure, with water supply expected to return to normal from 1 November 2026.
The restrictions will affect the neighbourhoods of Machava Sede, Tâmaga, Acordos de Lusaka, Trevo, Portagem and Luís Cabral. The 2M factory, which benefits from a dedicated supply line, may also be affected by the interruption.
In view of the situation, SAAS-Maputo recommends that customers and residents in the affected areas store water before the scheduled start of the work, in order to minimise disruption during the intervention.
