- Former President Chissano has called for partnerships between Portuguese and Mozambican companies to process and add value to Mozambique’s resources in the country.
Former Mozambican President Joaquim Chissano on Monday called for partnerships between Portuguese and Mozambican companies to transform Mozambique’s resources within the country.
“Mozambican companies must emerge in partnership with Portuguese companies, and a time must come when Mozambicans can also invest in Portugal,” Chissano said during the debate “Portugal-Mozambique: Dialogue, Cooperation and Development”, at the Mário Soares and Maria Barroso Foundation in Lisbon.

“It is simply a matter of thinking win-win, simply thinking win-win,” he said.
“Portugal should also say what Mozambique will gain from this, and we should work on that basis,” Chissano added.
