Maputo will host the Mozambique International Investment Congress (MIIC 2026) on 9 and 10 December 2026, an initiative designed to promote business opportunities, attract new investment and strengthen partnerships between companies, investors and public institutions.
The event will take place at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre under the theme “Mozambique. Ready to Invest”, and is expected to bring together around 300 participants, according to an organiser statement.
The programme will include plenary and thematic sessions, investment project presentations and business meetings between companies, investors and government representatives, as well as contacts with potential financing partners.
The initiative aims to facilitate the identification of business partners, explore financing alternatives and discuss the conditions required for the implementation of new projects or the expansion of existing ones in the country.
According to the organisers, the congress agenda will cover sectors including agriculture and agro-industry, manufacturing, energy and natural resources, logistics and transport, infrastructure, the digital economy and tourism.
MIIC 2026 also seeks to encourage companies already operating in Mozambique to expand their activities and reinvest in the domestic market, contributing to industrialisation, economic diversification, job creation and greater valorisation of local resources.
Business-to-business meetings and sessions with government representatives are expected to provide an opportunity to discuss investment proposals and identify possibilities for public-private sector cooperation.
The congress takes place against a backdrop of efforts to attract fresh investment to stimulate the Mozambican economy and broaden the participation of different productive sectors in economic growth.
